The house
Il Rifugio Barocco is a self-contained apartment in the heart of Lecce's old town. The star vaults in Lecce stone are exactly as they always were: everything beneath them has been rethought to make a holiday simple.
A kitchen, a double bedroom, a sofa bed for two and a private bathroom. It sleeps up to 4, to be agreed in advance: the right size for a couple, a family, or anyone travelling for something authentic without giving up the quiet.
Step outside and you are among the alleyways, the traditional restaurants and the main monuments. Everything a few minutes away, everything on foot.
The rooms
Not a hotel room: a whole apartment, with its vaults and its corners, entirely for whoever arrives.
01Beneath the star vaults
The heart of the house: a wide, bright room under vaults of Lecce stone, with a dining table, a sofa bed and a television. This is where breakfast happens, and where you come back in the evening after walking the old town.
02A headboard of bare stone
A double bed with a headboard cut into the Lecce stone, a generous wardrobe, air conditioning and a TV. The star vault runs above the bed and is the first thing you look at in the morning.
03Stone and water
A private bathroom clad in stone, with a walk-in shower, a countertop basin and an exposed stone shelf. Linen and toiletries are always ready on arrival.
04The morning coffee
A kitchen corner with an induction hob, a fridge, crockery and a moka pot. The coffee is from Salento: mornings start here, unhurried.
Under the vault
Star vaults in Lecce stone run through the whole apartment. They have not been touched: they are the reason this house looks like no other.
